Psalm 59 doesn’t sanitize evil, and neither do we. We start with David’s plea, “Rescue me,” and connect it to the kind of headlines that leave families angry, heartsick, and on edge. Then we slow down and do what a biblical worldview demands: pray, read the text, and ask what obedience looks like when the world feels lawless.
From there we get specific about Christian marriage. We read Proverbs 31 and talk about why “noble character” is not a vibe, it’s a pattern of life shaped by the fear of the Lord. We challenge the way modern culture twists Scripture into permission slips for self-first priorities, and we point husbands and wives back to the steady work of serving God, honoring vows, and protecting kids. If you’re searching for practical Christian marriage advice, biblical gender roles, or what Proverbs 31 really means, you’ll hear a clear, unapologetic argument for ordered priorities.
We also walk through Luke 2 and highlight Mary and Joseph choosing God’s will over appearances, plus Simeon’s reminder that Jesus brings salvation for all people. The back half turns to leadership and national direction with Proverbs 11:14, a Medal of Honor account of service, and quotes from American presidents on the Bible’s influence on rights and law. We close with prayer for families, those who protect us, and a return to God at the center of American life.

Marriage verses for today, Proverbs 31, ten through twelve. A wife of noble character who can find. She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good not harm all the days of her life twenty seven through thirty. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her. Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Husbands, look for a wife like this. Wives, you want a great marriage, look to this as a good example. Notice that so many today that really follow feminism but pretend to follow Christ use Proverbs 31 as an excuse to abandon their husbands and their children at home, saying, Well, look at the Proverbs 31 woman. She goes off and does all this stuff. She does do some things outside of the house, but everything is focused on her husband and her children, and most of all, fearing the Lord, serving God. There's nowhere in here you're gonna find some excuse where this woman goes off and abandons her roles and responsibilities to her husband and her children, husband first, and children after that, to follow her hobbies, professional dreams, athletic or academic goals. Luke 2, 1 through 35. At that time the Roman Emperor Augustus decreed that a census should be taken throughout the Roman Empire. This was the first census taken when Corinius was governor of Syria. All returned to their own ancestral towns to register for the census, and because Joseph was a descendant of King David, he had to go to Bethlehem in Judea, David's ancient home. He traveled there from the village of Nazareth in Galilee. He took with him Mary, to whom he was engaged, who was now expecting a child. And while they were there, the time came for her baby to be born. She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him snugly in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger because there was no lodging available for them. I don't think we make enough of this, by the way, that Joseph was more concerned, and Mary was more concerned about doing God's will than having this perfect appearance of a marriage from the outside. Right? We ought to be way more concerned about whether we're following God's roles and responsibilities for us as husbands and wives, and doing God's will than what the world says we should look like. That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them, Don't be afraid, he said. I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all the people. The Savior, yes, the Messiah the Lord, has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David, and you will recognize him by this sign. You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth lying in a manger. Suddenly the angel was joined by a vast host of others, the armies of heaven, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased. When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, Let's go to Bethlehem. Let's see this thing that has happened which the Lord has told us about. They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherd's story were astonished. But Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them. Eight days later, when the baby was circumcised, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel even before he was conceived. Then it was time for the purification offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child. So his parents took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord. The law of the Lord says, if a woman's first child is a boy, he must be dedicated to the Lord. So they offered the sacrifice required in the law of the Lord, either a pair of turtle doves or two young pigeons. At that time there was a man at Jerusalem named Simeon. He was a righteous and devout man and was eagerly waiting for the Messiah to come and rescue Israel. The Holy Spirit was upon him and had revealed to him that he would not die until he had seen the Lord's Messiah. That day the Spirit led him to the temple. So when Mary and Joseph came to present the baby Jesus to the Lord as the law required, Simeon was there. He took the child in his arms and praised God, saying, Sovereign Lord, now let your servant die in peace as you have promised. I have seen your salvation, which you have prepared for all people. He is a light to reveal God to the nations, and he is the glory of your people, Israel. You notice, folks, there's no denomination listed there that you have to be a part of in order to receive salvation, that Jesus Christ came only to one particular denomination. Jesus' parents were amazed at what was being said about him. Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, the baby's mother, The child is destined to cause many in Israel to fall and many others to rise. He has been sent as a sign from God, but many will oppose him. As a result, the deepest thoughts of many hearts will be revealed, and a sword will pierce your very soul. Time that Saul sent soldiers to watch David's house in order to kill him. Rescue me from my enemies, O God, protect me from those who have come to destroy me. Rescue me from these criminals, save me from these murders, they have set an ambush for me. Fierce enemies are out there waiting, Lord, though I have not sinned or offended them, I have done nothing wrong, yet they prepare to attack me. Wake up, see what is happening, and help me. O Lord, God of heaven's armies, the God of Israel, wake up and punish those hostile nations. Show no mercy to wicked traitors. They come out at night snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets. Listen to the filth that comes from their mouths, their words cut like swords. After all, who can hear us? They sneer. But Lord, you laugh at them, you scoff at all the hostile nations. You are my strength. I wait for you to rescue me. For you, O God, are my fortress. In his unfailing love my God will stand with me. He will let me look down and triumph on all my enemies. Don't kill them, for my people soon forget such lessons. Stagger them with your power and bring them to their knees, O Lord, our shield. Because of the sinful things they say, because of the evil that is on their lips, let them be captured by their pride, their curses, and their lies. Destroy them in your anger, wipe them out completely. Then the whole world will know that God reigns in Israel. My enemies come out at night, snarling like vicious dogs as they prowl the streets, they scavenge for food, but go to sleep unsatisfied. But as for me I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress. O my strength, to you I sing praises, for you, O God, are my refuge, the God who shows me unfailing love. Proverbs 1114. Without wise leadership a nation falls. There is safety in having many advisors. And you cannot have wise leadership in a nation without leaders who rule in fear of God. Countryside, if you get a chance, these are the first two books in the series, some reviews. Here's the second book. And if you enjoy it, if you would leave a review online, those help immensely, especially the five-star ones. Same thing for the podcast. And also on the podcast, if you feel like you're getting something out of it and you have five or ten dollars a month you can donate, there's a link in the show notes where you can do that. I would be very, very grateful for that support. I'm going to read this one one more time. We read it recently on a podcast. It's from the UK from Bristol. Four teenage girls, Bristol grooming gang victims from 2010 to 2013. Vulnerable girls aged 13 to 16, groomed, plied with alcohol and drugs, repeatedly raped and prostituted by a gang of 13 men, all Somali Muslims. The men were convicted in 2014 of offenses, including rape, sexual activity with a child, facilitating child prostitution. I read it again because, folks, we have an issue in America with Somali Muslims, but the problem isn't Somalia part. It doesn't matter if it's Nigeria, Sudan, Australia, Asia, China, Vietnam. It doesn't matter. Germany, Europe, Brazil, Argentina, Peru. What matters is the ideology. It's the Islam part. This particular event was 13 years ago, give or take. You can go back another 13 years ago and you're still going to find examples. You go back another 13 years, you go back 130 years, you go back 260 years, you're still going to find examples of Muslim atrocities, just like you will in the 20th century of socialism, communism, Nazism, fascism, leftism, that whole leftism umbrella. Medal of Honor for today, John Brown, captain of the Afterguard. Interim period 1865-1870, USS Winooski, U.S. Navy, May 10th, 1866, off Eastport, Maine, USA. For heroic conduct with two comrades in rescuing from drowning James Rose and John Russell Seaman of the USS Winooski off Eastport, Maine, 10 May 1866. Right at the end of the Civil War. Accredited to Maryland, not awarded posthumously born 1838, Denmark, and that's all the information they have. Again, compare this immigrant with the illegals that we read about so frequently and mass Muslim immigrants that we read about so frequently. John Brown, captain of the afterguard. We're going to go back in and read a couple more quotes from presidents out of our American Patriots Bible. Harry Truman, 33rd President. The fundamental basis of this nation's laws was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. If we don't have a proper fundamental moral background, we will finally end up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state. Franklin Roosevelt, FDR, 32nd president. Realize that these were both Democrats in their day, folks. Just let that part register in the back of your mind. We cannot read the history of our rise and development as a nation without reckoning with the place the Bible has occupied in shaping the advances of the Republic. Where we have been the truest and most consistent in obeying its precepts, we have attained the greatest measure of contentment and prosperity. Andrew Jackson, seventh president, we'll come back and read this one again. It's a short one, though. The Bible, that book, sir, is the rock on which our republic rests. We have no hope, no future, folks, without God and Jesus Christ at the center of America. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us the stare our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not to temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen. God bless y'all. God bless your families. God bless your marriages if you're married. God bless your nation, wherever you are around the world listening. God bless America. We'll talk to you all again real soon, folks. Looking forward to it.
